Our Story
E. Wilde and K. Nelson's uncannily parallel life experiences, particularly their personal journeys with the loss of loved ones, led both artists to explore the use of cloth in ritual. E. Wilde delved into the concepts of death, loss, and renewal through her exhibition and performance series "Beauty in Death," creating a collection of paintings and shrouds. These artworks now form the foundation of Robe + Soul's founding collections.
Our Philosophy
K+E navigate life through ritual, meditation, and the connection between body and soul, extending these practices to honour and celebrate loved ones in both life and death.
The Founders
E.Wilde is a painter working in abstraction, bringing her background as an Architect specialising in geopolymer concretes and the resonosphere project. She is also a writer.
Kate is a multifaceted artist: a jewelry designer, yoga teacher, dancer, facilitator, somatic healer, and entrepreneur.
Both artists work with an acute awareness of body, emotion, and spirit in their respective practices, which naturally led to the creation of Robe & Soul.
Our Mission
K+E envision cloth as a means to honour the body and celebrate the full spectrum of existence:
- Robe for body
- Shroud for soul
We see cloth as a symbol of our shared humanity and life force, to be used in:
- Ritual
- Celebration
- Healing
- Renewal
